Indian Stock Market Rebounds

The Indian stock market came back on September 4, 2026, after four days of declines, with the Sensex rising more than 580 points and the Nifty 50 going past 23,950 in early trading. The Sensex jumped 580 points as the index rose 582.69 points, or 0.77%, to 76,735.55 at 10:07 am. It opened at 76,657.02 and reached an early high of 76,746.80, marking a strong recovery after the previous four sessions ended lower. 

The Nifty topped 23,950 after gaining 78.50 points, or 0.33%, to 23,952.20 at 10:07 am. The index opened at 23,910.90 and touched an early high of 23,962.55. The move pushed the benchmark further away from the recent losing streak. 

Buying was broad-based among major Sensex constituents. Reliance Industries led the gainers with a 2.03% rise, followed by Trent at 1.91% and Bajaj Finserv at 1.46%. HDFC Bank and Adani Ports advanced 1.39% each, while BEL, ITC and SBI also traded more than 1% higher. By 11:10 am, 29 of the 30 Sensex stocks were in positive territory. 

The Indian stock market today was also influenced by overseas trends. Asian equities gained, while investors continued to assess expectations around US interest rates. In China, the CSI300 and Shanghai Composite were up 0.4% by the lunch break, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 2.1%. 

The Indian stock market rebounded on September 4, 2026, as investors also tracked developments in the primary market. Manipal Payment and Identity Solutions set its IPO price band at Rs 322–339 per share for an Rs 805-crore issue. The subscription window is scheduled from September 9 to September 11. 

The company’s IPO includes a fresh issue of Rs 320 crore and an offer for sale of up to 1.43 crore shares worth Rs 485 crore. The shares are proposed to be listed on the BSE and NSE on September 17.
